QUAD in Derby launches two new Creative Writing Courses in January offering a chance to bring out your inner author.
'Let's Write a Book' and 'Publishing a Short Story Anthology' are brand new writing courses ideal for those interesting in getting their writing published, whether it's a its short story or a full novel.
Let’s Write A Book! Creating A First Draft In Twelve Weeks is an extended course which will not only cover the theory involved in creating a book, but will enable participants the time and space to work on their books, discuss their progress and have in-depth feedback on their book from both class and tutor. The course is perfect for those people with an idea for a book but not knowing where to start, or just looking for that extra bit of motivation and guidance to complete their projects. Let’s Write A Book! Creating A First Draft In Twelve Weeks takes place over twelve weeks from 28th January until 29th April (excluding the 4th March and 1st April) on Monday evenings from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. The course fees are: £170, or £160 Concessions.
Writing and Publishing an Anthology is a unique writing course which will give participants the chance to be involved in the making of – and feature in – an anthology of short stories. Participants will develop an idea for their story, writing and submitting their piece; and then taking part in a launch event for the book itself. The anthology will be edited by Alex Davis and published by BooHoo Books. The course offers an exciting opportunity to get your work published, also to get behind the scenes of how an anthology is created. Writing and Publishing an Anthology takes place over eight weeks from 31stJanuary until 28th March (excluding 7th March) on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. The course fees are: £120 or £110 Concessions.
