News: YSP Media announce Love & Other Chairs New Short Film In Pre-Production

YSP media announce their upcoming short film 'Love & Other Chairs' to be filmed in Derby this spring.

'Love & Other Chairs’ is written by Derby based writer Luke Kondor. It is described as a 'darkly comic' short film about Julian, a lonely, depressed, wreck of a man with a problem; every woman he meets turns into a chair. After trying to make it work with his wife-turned-furniture-piece, he becomes desperate for love, and quickly attains an awfully large collection of pews. Luke Kondor has a love for the 'surreal' and 'abstract' and has named David Lynch, Charlie Kaufman, Andrew Kaufman and Etgar Keret as influences.

YSP Media’s Christopher Bevan will direct the project and will collaborate with the team’s Director of Photography Karl Poyzer and Film Maker and Costume Designer Sophie BLack will be working on the design side of the production. Mark Drake will star as lead role Julian and further roles for ‘Love & Other Chairs’ are due to be cast in the coming weeks with auditions for other roles in the film due to be announced soon. YSP Media have revealed more insight into what audiances can look forward to in the year ahead on their website:

"Love & Other Chairs i currently in development and forms part of YSP Media's aim to connect with exciting new writers to help bring funny, intriguing and heart warming stories to the screen. After a successful past year with 5 shorts produced, we’re looking to step things up again this year by producing a film that is at once unique, surreal and touching. Filming is currently scheduled for the end of March with plans in place to submit to festivals and screen the film in the Autumn/Winter of 2013."
