iD Fest 2013 is now open for film makers to submit their films for consideration into screening at the festival.
iD Fest is QUAD’s own film festival, taking place between the 10-12 May. The festival will include screenings, previews, events, professional practice, exhibitions and more. iD Fest 2013 will have something for everyone, from film fans to filmmakers and will have the theme of 'Family'.
"We are Family" ...the clarion call to unite brothers and sisters, parents and children, soldiers of fortune, post-apocalyptic survivors, internet groups, film crews up against it, communities besieged, and all other manor of collectives.
This year iD Fest is placing the family under the microscope and seeing what secrets are being kept hidden. From the earliest days of film, the question of family has been a fertile ground for filmmakers to explore whether it be the nuclear family unit of 2.4 children or more contemporary interpretations of non-traditional ‘families’.
iD Fest will be a fly-on-the-wall investigating the nuances of love, fear, resentment, fun and more that make up our sense of identity defined by what we describe as family. Two categories, Short and Features (any genre) are available to submit.
Submissions should be made via Withoutabox online. Submission charges and rules are detailed on Withoutabox, but Derby based film makers are invited to submit their films for FREE by sending in their film, a synopsis of the film and credit list of all involved to adamb@derbyquad.co.uk or by post to Adam Buss, QUAD, Cathedral Quarter, Derby, DE1 3AS.
